The Teresa Pàmies Auditorium at the Centre Cívic Urgell is hosting Transcending, transgressing. Technology as a shaper of utopias and spiritualities on the morning of 15 October. The aim of the conference is to reflect on the utopias and regulations that different religious and spiritual traditions have spoken of the individual and social body.

It will feature a dialogue moderated by Dídac P. Lagarriga on whether immaterial religious technologies (such as meditation, rituals or prayer) and material technologies (transhumanism) play a prominent role in these utopian and normative proposals.

Thus, they will invite you to think about how they are explained today - in a strongly dystopian context - and how they discuss the always tense and at the same time inevitable longings for transcendence and transgression. Afterwards, the documentary film Las dormantes by Pierre Yves Vanderweerd will be screened, followed by a discussion with the collaboration of the OVNI collective.

The debate will include the participation of Pierre-Yves Vandeweerd, director of Les dormants; Sandra Anitua, lecturer at the UOC and researcher at the University of Vic, member of the Research Group on Mysticism and Religious Heterodoxies (GREMHER); and Carlos Salazar, professor of anthropology at the University of Lleida.
