We live in a globalised system, disconnected from the ecological context. A strange place where it is often easier to buy products from the other side of the world and move around in vehicles that pollute. Out of inertia or idleness, we allow ourselves to be carried along by the relentless acceleration of capitalism as we move towards an uncertain horizon marked by the climate emergency.

On the contrary, more and more voices are proposing a different, more conscious and sustainable way of living. If we know that cities consume 78% of the world's energy and produce 60% of greenhouse gas emissions, how can we address the environmental challenge from the metropolis? What is the near-zero city?

We are talking about consumption, emissions, waste and mobility. Of buildings that produce more energy than they need, self-sufficient territories, carbon-neutral proposals, km0 products and the 15-minute city. Of reduction and deceleration. Zero certainly does not exist. Every action, no matter how small, has an impact, but we can get closer to it, from ideas and decisions.
