The world is sinking. And how are you coping? The reality in which we live often surpasses the most dystopian fictions: climate emergency, economic crisis, pandemics, social inequalities, impositions and war conflicts. We want to believe that a better future is possible, but the world shows a different picture. We want to believe that a better future is possible, but the world shows a different picture. What do we do with all this? What are the attitudes, generational realities and cultural constructions in the face of collapse?

We take a journey from nihilism, catastrophism, eco-anxiety, fatigue and apathy to collective organisation or the OK doomer slogan. From dystopia to utopia. And we ask ourselves, like Sally Rooney, where is the beautiful world, if it still exists. And you, do you believe in utopias?

The session will begin with manifestos by way of a prologue by the writer George Monbiot and the philosopher Corine Pelluchon, and will continue with a dialogue between the philosopher and cultural journalist Eudald Espluga and the writer Layla Martínez.

George Monbiot will participate by videoconference.
