Mar Coll

Filmmaker 

Graduated in directing at the Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia (ESCAC), she made the short film La última polaroid (2004) as her final year project. Her first feature film, Tres dies amb la família, premiered at the Malaga Festival in 2009, where it was awarded three Biznagas. It also won the Gaudí for Best Director, Best Film and Best Actress and the Goya for Best New Director.

In 2013, she premiered her second feature film, Tots volem el millor per a ella, opening the Seminci in Valladolid, which awarded the Espiga de Plata to Nora Navas as best actress. She has also returned twice to short films with Amics (2012) and La inquilina (2015). Matar al padre (2018), a miniseries for Movistar+, is her latest project.

She is currently working on the development of her third feature film, Las madres no, and the TV series Esto no es Suecia, directed by Aina Clotet and Sergi Cameron. She combines her work as a director and screenwriter with teaching at the ESCAC film school and Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). She also works regularly as a project advisor in different frameworks.
