Thais Ruiz de Alda

Technologist and Executive Director of DigitalFems

A lawyer by training and with doctoral studies in Political Theory and Public Policy, she has led digital teams and projects since 1999. She has more than twenty years of experience working in digital and technological environments. 

She is currently founder and executive director of DigitalFems, as well as coordinator of the gender data lab GenderDataLab.org. She is also a mentor for social digital innovation projects and start-ups and collaborates with the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) in the Data Science course.

In recent years, she has also been a director of a multinational technology consultancy. She is the founder of the foundation Centro de Autonomía Digital, which aims to develop projects around digital privacy and security, and LaT, a citizen technopolitics laboratory. She has co-organised digital economy events such as the Sharing Cities Summit.
