Tau Luna
Migrant visual artist, mediator, researcher and curator
Working at the intersection of artistic practice, mediation, research and curating, their work is shaped by their experience as a Colombian migrant, cuir, agro-descendant and diasporic person. A weaver and the child of teachers, they explore human migration as an event linked to colonial violence, as well as listening and shared memory with human and more-than-human migrant beings. Their practice brings together ancestral, scientific and intuitive technologies to imagine forms of restorative justice and open up material and affective spaces of softness. Their work unfolds across community and institutional cultural spaces, in connection with migrant networks in Barcelona. They have collaborated with the Fundació Miró, the CCCB, MACBA and La Escocesa, and have participated in educational and mediation projects in Latin America and Europe. They hold a master’s degree in Cultural Studies with a queer and feminist perspective. They are currently an artist-in-residence at La Escocesa and a member of the Selvagem study group, coordinated by Ailton Krenak.
