Volodymyr Yermolenko

Ukrainian philosopher, writer and journalist

President of PEN Ukraine, he is an Associate Professor at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Director of Analytics at Internews Ukraine and heads UkraineWorld, an international platform dedicated to explaining Ukrainian realities to the world. His work combines philosophy, political analysis and reflection on European culture and identities. He has focused particularly on disinformation, propaganda, democratic culture and the political and cultural consequences of the war.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he has become one of the most prominent voices in the European public debate on the conflict and has published in media outlets including The Economist, Le Monde, the Financial Times and The New York Times. Together with Tetyana Ogarkova, he has published La vida al límite (Asteroide, 2026), a jointly written account of their journeys to deliver humanitarian aid behind the front lines.
