Working across politics, comedy and radio, Alba Segarra Mercè has turned everyday observation into a way of looking at the world. A political scientist by training —Political Science, not political science fiction—, she was born in Ponent and has lived in Barcelona for fourteen years, where she moved in search of opportunities, even if ‘Barcelona’ and ‘opportunities’ might sound like an oxymoron. She knows what ‘oxymoron’ means and has worked in the third sector because she still believes in a fairer, more caring world — and in the Three Kings. She is currently taking a break from social projects and appears daily on RAC1’s Els teloners, because talking — and by talking, we mean talking — is something she enjoys. Sometimes she dresses as though she spoke English like a native and is addicted to battery-powered radios and thyme, so she is fully prepared to grow old.
