What are Barcelonians like? How is our identity shaped by stereotypes, contradictions and everyday anecdotes?

What does our sense of humour say about us and our capacity for self-criticism? How can humour be a way of experiencing Barcelona and understanding it better? Is a city that knows how to laugh at itself a healthier city? How do stereotypes about Barcelona reveal who we are, while also obscuring parts of our identity?

Humour is undoubtedly one of the most intelligent ways of observing and engaging with our surroundings. It is also a way of looking at ourselves. And that is precisely what four exceptional comedians —Oye Sherman, Shaun Debnath, Alba Segarra and Judit Martín— will do: create a self-portrait of Barcelonians. Together on stage, they will show that a city capable of laughing at itself is also a city more open to critical thought.

Activity recommended for adult audiences.

Session with simultaneous interpretation.

Free admission.
