Allan Cunha
Documentary photographer and visual artist
Based in São Paulo, Allan Cunha explores contemporary issues and urban life through his projects. He is a member of the CPDOC Guaianás Research and Documentation Centre, dedicated to preserving the collective memory of various neighbourhoods on the outskirts of São Paulo. He is the author of the photobooks Mergulho (Immersion) and Apropriação da Paisagem (Appropriation of the Landscape), the latter resulting from a social inclusion project. His work is held in the collections of the Instituto Moreira Salles in São Paulo and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris. He has participated in exhibitions and publications in several Brazilian states, as well as in Mexico, Spain and France. He holds a degree in Photography, with additional training in Art History, Art Direction and Cultural Production.
