Ivelise Fortim
Researcher specialising in video games and childhood
Working across psychology, digital culture and mental health, Ivelise Fortim has developed a career focused on the psychosocial impacts of digital technologies. A psychologist, researcher and lecturer at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), she holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a master’s degree in Social Sciences from the same university. She is co-founder of Homo Ludens Inovação e Conhecimento, teaches on the Psychology and Digital Games degree programmes at PUC-SP, and is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she is affiliated with the Digital Futures for Children project. She is also president of the Instituto Criança em Jogo and coordinates Janus – Laboratório de Estudos de Psicologia e Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação. Her research addresses video games, social media, behavioural addictions, Asian pop culture, digital rights, gender, childhood, digital platforms and mental health.
