Lola López Mondéjar

Psychoanalyst and writer

Working across psychoanalysis, literature and the analysis of contemporary subjectivity, Lola López Mondéjar has developed a career combining fiction, essays, playwriting and critical thought. A speaker at institutions and universities in Spain and abroad, she is the author of novels including Una casa en la Habana, Yo nací con la bossa nova, Lenguas vivas, No quedará la noche and Mi amor desgraciado, a finalist for the 21st Torrente Ballester Narrative Prize (2009). She has also published the short-story collections El pensamiento mudo de los peces, Lazos de sangre and Qué mundo tan maravilloso. Her essays include a trilogy on creative processes comprising El factor Munchausen. Psicoanálisis y creatividad, Una espina en la carne. Psicoanálisis y creatividad and Si digo agua, ¿beberé? Psicoanálisis y literatura. Anagrama has published her books Invulnerables e invertebrados. Mutaciones antropológicas del sujeto contemporáneo and Sin relato. Atrofia de la capacidad narrativa y crisis de la subjetividad, which won the 2024 Anagrama Essay Prize. In 2025, she published Artes decorativas, her first play. Her writing on psychoanalysis appears in specialist journals, while her opinion pieces have been published in media outlets including Infolibre, Tribuna Feminista, La Opinión de Murcia and El País. From 2004 to 2024, she ran a creative writing workshop in Murcia.
