Mar García Puig
Writer, editor and translator
Language, motherhood, mental health and representations of the body run through Mar García Puig’s work. Born in Barcelona in 1977, she holds a degree in English Philology from the University of Barcelona and a master’s degree in Cognitive Science and Language. A writer, editor and translator, she is the author of La història dels vertebrats (2023), a book in which she explores the depression she experienced after becoming a mother of twins and a member of parliament at the same time. The book received the Ciutat de Barcelona, No Llegiu and Vanity Fair awards. She has also published Això tan tenebrós (2025), an essay on language and its metaphors. Her work has been translated into several languages, and she has contributed to collective volumes including LGTBI (2020), Neorrancios (2022), Más que visibles (2022) and (H)Amor co(m)adre (2025).
