In what sense do we carry within us the cities where we have lived? In what sense are cities always open to being read by those who inhabit and write them? Why, indeed, is living a city always a way of writing it?

Hélène Cixous claimed that cities are lost and posthumous letters, in the sense that they are always in the making: what they are is never entirely fixed, and they are always still waiting to be received and written. In this event, which brings this year’s Biennal to a close, different pairs of writers take to the stage to read the correspondence they have exchanged over the preceding months, always with cities as their starting point: their own cities, those they have visited, those they have lived in, those they have read about or those they have written about. In short, the cities they carry within them, in one way or another.

Leila Guerriero and Pol Guasch, Antònia Vicens and Xaime Martínez, Marta Sanz and Maryam Madjidi, Mar Garcia Puig and Neige Sinno share the intimacy of their correspondence to explore what, today, makes it difficult to live in cities, but also what makes it possible.

The readings will feature musical accompaniment by Meritxell Neddermann and Adrià Serrano, with audiovisual design by Oscila.

Session with Catalan subtitles.
