Maria Jaume
Mallorcan singer, guitarist and songwriter
After winning the Sona9 competition in 2019, she made her debut with Fins a maig no revisc (2020), an intimate folk album produced by Pau Vallvé. With Voltes i voltes (2022), she began to broaden her musical universe, and with Nostàlgia Airlines (2024) she consolidated a shift towards singer-songwriter pop, indie and electronic music, with lyrics marked by irony, vulnerability, affection and what she describes as a “melancholic Balearic” sound, in which issues such as gentrification and mass tourism take centre stage. The album, recognised by the Enderrock Awards and the MIN Awards, established her as one of the leading voices on today’s Catalan music scene. In 2026 she releases Santo Domingo Forever, a work inspired by the Sant Domingo festivities in Lloret de Vistalegre, her hometown, where personal memory, Mallorcan folk culture and contemporary pop come together in a shared sonic celebration.
