Marta Echaves

Researcher and cultural programmer

Working across philosophy, cultural programming and the essay, Marta Echaves develops long-term projects that have taken the form of exhibitions, non-fiction radio pieces, lecture-performances and essays. Born in Madrid in 1990, she studied Philosophy and specialised through MACBA’s Independent Studies Programme. She is currently activities coordinator at the publishing house Caja Negra, while also conducting research and working as a cultural programmer. Her publications include a contribution to the collective volume La potencia afectiva (2025), the afterword to McKenzie Wark’s Raving (2023), and Working Dead. Escenarios del postrabajo (2019), co-edited with María Ruido and Antonio Gómez Villar. The latter includes Confiad en la Piedad Química, which became the starting point for her first book-length essay, Químicas Piedades (2026).
