Paula Artés

Artist and photographer

Through photography and artistic research, Paula Artés questions structures of power and control that often remain hidden from the public. Her practice is grounded in prior research and uses the camera as a tool to gain access to opaque spaces, reveal their inner workings and open them up to collective scrutiny. A graduate in Photography and Contemporary Creation, with further training in Graphic and Audiovisual Design for Photographers at IDEP Barcelona, she has exhibited at institutions and festivals including Fundació Brossa, Fundació Toni Catany, Museu Morera, Santa Mònica, Lo Pati, Mèdol Tarragona, SCAN, Fundación MAPFRE and Festival de la Imagen in Colombia. Her work is part of the Fundación MAPFRE Collection and the National Collection of Contemporary Art of the Government of Catalonia. Represented by àngels barcelona gallery, she has published the photobooks Fuerzas y cuerpos and Firma, the latter of which received the ArtsLibris Banc Sabadell Award (2025).
