How can art challenge hate speech? Do we need to understand it in order to dismantle it? Are there risks involved in addressing polarising issues? What can the visual and performing arts do that the media or social networks cannot? Artist Paula Artés, performing arts collective Las Huecas and comedian Març Llinàs will share some of the projects through which they have sought to address these questions.

This activity launches Argumenta, a series that promotes critical and shared thinking and takes place in Barcelona's civic centres. The pressing questions of our time take shape in the city's neighbourhoods through a programme that brings together voices from the worlds of thought, creativity and activism. Collectively and through a range of formats, we will explore issues such as ageism, geopolitics, urban planning and the far right.

Free admission. Limited capacity.
