Born in Barcelona in 2004, a few years after his parents settled in the city, Shaun Debnath has always lived in the Raval neighbourhood. Known on social media as Thashaun, he connects with thousands of followers through accessible, informative content rooted in his personal experience. He identifies as ‘one hundred per cent Indian, one hundred per cent Catalan and one hundred per cent Bengali’, a perspective from which he asserts his Catalan identity, his family roots and the visibility of being Indian from a queer perspective. His digital presence helps broaden narratives around belonging, diversity and identity among younger generations.
