Youssef M. Ouled

Journalist, researcher and writer specialising in racism, discrimination and human rights

Founder and coordinator of AlgoRace, he researches the impact of artificial intelligence, algorithmic systems and surveillance technologies on migrants and racialised people, focusing on digital borders and the reproduction of structural inequalities. He has also conducted extensive research into racial profiling and bias within Spain’s State Security Forces and Corps, an area in which he has collaborated with Rights International Spain and other human rights organisations. A speaker and communicator on Islamophobia, institutional racism and media representations of migration, he regularly takes part in debates on technology, digital rights and racial justice. He is the author of Vivir contra el racismo (Barlin Libros) and La frontera de l’atzar (Jande Editorial), an essay on migration policies, borders and contemporary forms of exclusion and inequality.
