Bruna Martins dos Santos

Activist and researcher

Bruna Martins dos Santos, is a Brazilian digital rights activist and researcher at the Berlin Social Science Centre (WZB) as a recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's scholarship for future leaders (Bundeskanzler-Stipendium). She is also a member of the Brazilian NGO coalition Coalizao Direitos na Rede and acts as an independent consultant on global internet governance, intermediary liability, data protection and digital rights.

Bruna has some experience in Internet Governance, including participation in the 3A/B roundtable, responsible for holding discussions on the Protection of Human Rights in the Digital Age, which subsequently fed into the Roadmap of the General Secretariat for Digital Cooperation, as well as her contributions to this space as one of the co-coordinators of the Internet Governance Internet (IGC) and one of the co-organisers and long-time volunteers of the Good Practice Forum on Gender and Digital Rights. In addition, she has actively contributed to the development of internet legislation in Brazil, such as the Civil Internet Framework and the Brazilian General Data Protection Legislation [LGPD].
