Neige Sinno

Writer and translator

Working across fiction, essays and non-fiction, Neige Sinno has developed a body of work shaped by experience, memory, reading and writing as forms of personal and literary exploration. Born in France in 1977, she lived in Mexico from 2006 to 2025 and now lives in the French Basque Country. She wrote her doctoral thesis on the contemporary American short story at Aix-Marseille University and undertook postdoctoral research at UNAM in Mexico, where she taught literature and translation. She is the author of the works of fiction La vie des rats (2007) and Le Camion (2018), and the essay Lectores entre líneas: Roberto Bolaño, Ricardo Piglia y Sergio Pitol (2011), winner of the Lya Kostakowsky Prize for Literary Essay. With Triste tigre (2024), a non-fiction work about the systematic sexual violence she experienced as a child, she received several awards in France and has been translated into thirty languages. In 2025, she published La Realidad, a hybrid work about her experience in Mexico and her encounters with women who fight for change.
