How can we put into words the space that opens up between desire and exhaustion, celebration and crisis, the periphery and the centre? What promises and contradictions lie within a city like Barcelona? Is it possible to dance while everything seems to be falling apart?

SVSTO is Carla Parmenter’s musical project, developed together with producer Alejandro Da Rocha. It creates a world of dark yet irresistibly danceable sounds and sharp lyrics that capture the experience of a generation facing one crisis after another. Building on the irreverent spirit of the Bistecs, Parmenter now presents a rawer, more mature project in which humour remains a tool of resistance and the dance floor becomes a space for celebration.

SVSTO’s imaginary draws on the industrial estates, factories and wastelands of the Vallès Oriental, as well as Barcelona’s underground culture, combining industrial landscapes with glam aesthetics, electronic darkness with queer celebration, and activism with satire. The result is a powerful live performance that dissects Barcelona and its narratives with clarity and sarcasm: the city as a showcase, the city that pushes people out, the city that promises opportunities while displacing its residents, but also the city where cracks remain open for resistance to find its way through.

SVSTO closes Saturday night with a concert that transforms critique into collective energy and the dance floor into a space from which to imagine other ways of inhabiting the city.

Session with simultaneous interpretation.

Free admission.
