What lies behind the glass towers and luxury shopfronts of today’s great metropolises? On the occasion of the publication of London Falling, investigative journalist Patrick Radden Keefe talks to Judit Carrera about the ecosystem of ambition, deception, opaque money and violence that lies beneath the surface of London.

Patrick Radden Keefe, one of today’s leading investigative journalists, once again takes us into the underbelly of power. In London Falling (Doubleday, 2026), he investigates the mysterious death of Zac Brettler, a young man who, under a false identity, enters a world of businesspeople, speculators and criminals. His tragic story provides a lens through which to portray London’s transformation from a port and industrial city into a global financial capital.

What emerges is an urban landscape of empty luxury apartments, offshore companies and vast fortunes that are difficult to trace, often protected by institutional silence and political complicity. In conversation with Judit Carrera, Radden Keefe reflects on the importance of journalism that refuses to compromise in the face of power and corruption.

Session with simultaneous interpretation.

Free admission. Limited capacity.
