In the current context, contemporary architecture faces major challenges, including adapting to climate change, preserving heritage and safeguarding people’s health. In this scenario, the city is both the challenge and the laboratory where all of this is put to the test.
This debate brings together the curators of the exhibition (Diversity + Intensity) x Complexity, on view at the Casa de l’Arquitectura. The exploration presented in the exhibition unfolds along three axes: diversity, which allows us to discover who inhabits the city; intensity, to understand how close relationships between people and community life can generate shared responses; and complexity, which helps us read the relationships that emerge in a living Barcelona, one that learns and transforms.
The result presents Barcelona not as a static image, but as a sequence in motion. A city that looks at itself, questions itself and reinvents itself to imagine a fairer, more sustainable and collective urban future.
