Philosopher Juan Evaristo Valls Boix and writer and journalist Anna Pacheco, in a conversation moderated by journalist Alba Riera, discuss our changing relationship with work at a time marked by a culture of performance and precarity.

How are identities changing under contemporary capitalism? Are we moving away from the culture of success? In recent decades, work has become one of the main pillars of our identity and a fundamental step towards personal fulfilment. As Juan Evaristo Valls Boix points out, we live in an age of constant self-optimisation: the logic of performance now shapes not only our professional lives but also permeates our leisure time, pushing us into an endless cycle of production and consumption.

In this conversation, Valls Boix and Pacheco reflect on emerging imaginaries of rejecting work and reclaiming rest and disconnection as a response to this model of constant productivity.

Session with simultaneous interpretation.

Free admission. Limited capacity.
